Talking Everything Solar

Know what you are advantaged to in Saskatchewan over anyone else!

We wish it was easy to convince people of things, especially when you know it will be good for them, but life isn’t that easy. So, we write blogs to express our thoughts around certain subjects and try to open an interest in other minds to the possibilities they have.

We could go on all day about why you should go solar but to keep it short we will just go over a few reasons.

The first reason of the three is that Saskatchewan people, no matter who because all who apply for the SaskPower grant get it, are eligible for 20% back on their installation costs up to $20,000 ($20,000 back, not a max of $20,000 system)! If you spend $30,000 on a system, you would get a cheque for $6,000 directly to you!

For those of you waiting to go solar thinking the costs are going to go down more, you are absolutely right. They are going to go down more yet, but not much for the next 5 to 10 years, and not to the point of saving 20% of costs. Part of this is due to most of installation costs now consist of labor, hardware, and wiring.

A decade ago when solar panels were ridiculously priced and were just starting to be considered an option, nobody could afford them because the technology wasn’t there yet, the cost to manufacture was still much too high therefore the cost to install was also too high.

The second reason is that Saskatchewan is the goldilocks zone of Canada. We are the best area in all of Canada for sunlight exposure.

Although this isn’t anything that is going to change it is important to recognize that many of the other provinces who do not have the advantage we do are still taking way more action. They are saving not just themselves tons of money, they are also able to feel good about the decision they have made.

Why might other provinces interest in solar be gaining so much as of lately?

The answer is that more and more people are beginning to realize the advantages of being independent with their electricity!

The third and final point to be made is that Saskatchewan has among the best rates in Canada for installation.

The average price of installing solar in Saskatchewan is around $3.05 to $3.30 per watt. Subtract the $0.61 per watt you get as a rebate from SaskPower and that looks like a pretty good energy cost for the next 30 years.

Many people are complacent when deciding to go solar, don’t be. Most of the costs associated are becoming low to the point of bottom for the next few years. As most of the costs now are labor, the structural parts of the install, and wiring. Not as much of the bill is made by the once overpriced panels anymore.

At Blaze Solar we have taken initiative to make this as easy as possible for our clients. From start to finish, you will be well informed and guided by the help of professionals.

We have made this process as easy and risk-free as possible.

We encourage you to start considering solar.

Take some time to research its potential instead of doing the old Facebook scroll for hours on end and add some real value in your life.

It is easier and more fulfilling than you think.
